Jacob Riising and Louise Wolff have been announced as the two hosts for Denmark’s song selection for Eurovision 2014.
The two will oversee the evening’s events in Odense’s Arena Fyn, on the 8th March, hoping to present Europe with an act to defend Denmark’s 2013 win. Wolff is by far the more experienced, hosting Melodi Grand Prix in the two previous years, as well as hosting and presenting many television programmes for DR, the Danish national broadcaster. Riising has been promoted to the adult world, as it were, from having presented the children’s Melodi Grand Prix several times, and hosting many of DR’s popular shows for Denmark’s younger audience.
A record 872 songs were submitted to DR for consideration for the showdown, of which 10 will be finally selected to feature in the final show (the producers will have a lot of listening on their hands!). The winning entrant will of course proceed directly to the Eurovision Grand Final on 10th May as hosts, where they will surely be met with huge support on the island of Refshaleøen, and across Europe.
