The European Broadcast Union and the Israeli Public Broadcast Corporation (KAN) officially unveiled the logo for the 64th Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

The logo features three triangles laid on top of each other to form a star at the forefront of a night sky. The slogan and logo tie in thematically to the recently released stage design by Florian Welder, which also heavily features the combination of triangular shapes.

As KAN stated, “The triangle, one of the world’s oldest shapes, is a cornerstone symbol found universally in art, music, cosmology and nature, representing connection and creativity. As the triangles join and combine, they become a new single entity reflecting the infinite stellar sky, as the stars of the future come together in Tel Aviv for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.”

The slogan and creative concept of “Dare to Dream” was created by Israeli advertising and branding agencies Awesome Tel Aviv and the logo executed from that concept by Studio Adam Feinberg (ST/AF).

The “stars of the future” referenced by KAN are, according to EBU’s Executive Supervisor of Eurovision, the 42 entrants who will converge on Tel Aviv in May.

Since the introduction of the slogan for Eurovision 2002 in Estonia, the reveal of the Eurovision logo, slogan and stage design is a highlight in the calendar.

And the star logo should come as no surprise to fans of Israeli entrants in Eurovision – the logo is made of stars, and so was their 2016 entry.
