Conchita Wurst is not receiving a lot of love from several conservative groups including the All-Russian parenting Group.
The singer was internally selected by the Austrian broadcaster to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Russian Ministry for Communications received a petition to ban the broadcast of the Eurovison Song Contest in Russia from that group which cited the reason “the popular international competition that our children will be watching has become a hotbed of sodomy, at the initiation of European liberals”. Over 400 people have sigend the petition.
While an actual ban is unlikely, this has been another bump in the road for Thomas Neuwirth (aka Conchita Wurst). We previously shared our thoughts HERE and how the artist brings out the worst in fans.
