In an unexpected twist of fortunes, the Bosnian national broadcaster, BHRT, has announced today that they will actually be returning to Europe’s favourite music event next year.

In their announcement they’ve stated that the Bosnian withdrawal in 2013 was due to financial reasons, but that the situation is not any better this year. However, the Executive Board of BHRT believes that they had to find a solution to satisfy the Bosnian public’s interest in the Contest as well as prevent further distancing of BHRT from the EBU.

Due to a drop in received TV tax (the way that most of BHRT is funded), the broadcaster has labelled BH Eurosong 2014 as a ‘multi-media project’, which means it will be a self-funded project and not be funded by the broadcaster. In their announcement, the broadcaster has already made an informal call for partners and sponsors to support the project.
