Belarus’ national broadcaster TVR (BTRC) has kicked off their search for an artist and song to succeed VAL for Eurovision 2021, inviting interested parties to submit an entry via their website.

Applications are open until 31 January 2021, with any solo performers over the age of 16 or groups of up to 6 able to apply to represent the Eastern European nation in Rotterdam this spring. The rules also state that any nationality of artist is able to apply, and there are also no language restrictions in place.

Details on how to apply to represent Belarus at Eurovision 2021 can be found on the BTRC website HERE (in Russian).

It is not yet confirmed whether a national final will take place or an internal selection, with BTRC set to decide this based on the “epidemiological situation” at the time, referring to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic across Europe.

VAL were chosen in a national final to represent Belarus at Eurovision 2020 before the contest was cancelled, however they were not internally selected once again to go to Rotterdam.
