We had previously reported that the Balkan nation of Albania had confirmed their intention to participate in 2015, and with it announcing that Festivali i Këngës and its rules were officially confirmed. However, the broadcaster of Albania has now confirmed that they are still undecided on whether to take part next year, sparking worry for Eurovision fans in the country.
Albania has taken part every year since 2004 despite mixed results and a potentially poor financial backing for the broadcaster. However, in 2012 the country found success with Rona Nishliu’s 5th place. Albania has failed to qualify since then, with Adrian Lulgjuraj & Bledar Sedko (2013) and Hersi Matmuja (2014) both finishing in 15th place in the semi-final.
Albania doesn’t have long left to decide however. It is likely that the country has submitted preliminary papers like many others but has until the October 10th deadline to decide on taking part.

Albania will not withdraw, people need to relax! It’s always the last minute panic mode and somebody talked to someone at the broadcaster so let’s not freak out.
