This morning, Aftonbladet sources revealed another 3 artists rumoured to be part of Melodifestivalen 2023. So far, they’re sources have speculated that Wiktoria, Nordman, Loulou LaMotte, Theoz, Emil Henrohn and Marcus & Matinus will participate.
Today, sources revealed that Panetoz, 2020 winning songwriter Melanie Wehbe and rock band Smash Into Pieces will be joining them in the line-up. This takes the number of rumoured artists to 9 of 28.
Panetoz have competed twice before in 2014 and 2016. Both years they progressed ‘direkt til final’ or straight to the final. Sources around the band believe they are ready and willing to compete, and improve on their 3rd chance.
Melanie Wehbe is an established singer-songwriter. In 2020 she co-wrote The Mamas winning track and now is looking to compete on her own. She has recently released her own EP and it is rumoured that she will be competing with a self-written song at Melodifestivalen 2023.
Finally, Smash Into Pieces completes the list as debutants to Melodifestivalen. The have been together as a band since 2008 and their guitarist co-wrote Victor Crone’s 2020 entry. They have now released 7 studio albums.
Aftonbladet has a track record on predicting who will compete at the contest. Last year, of the 28 possible competitors Aftonbladet correctly predicted 22 of them and the year prior 27.
