The Swiss broadcaster SRF announced that the Swiss National Final will take place on February 1st, 2014. Over the past few years, Switzerland was one of the first countries to choose their entry but in 2014 they pushed it back and will join most of the countries in the busy NF season.
A new selection process is underway which may explain why the date was pushed back.
Online Vote
Staring September 30th 2013, all artists can upload their songs to srf.ch/eurovision; the deadline to submit an entry is October 30th 2013. At that point the readers can vote for their favorites, a jury will also review all entries and the results will be combined 50/50. Nine acts/songs will move on to the next phase.
The Expert Check
The Nine chosen entries will face what the broadcaster is calling an Expert Round. They will be joined by six additional artists chosen by RTS and three more by RSI. Those experts will judge the live skills, vocal skills as well as stage presence of each act. Only six of them will be chosen to perform at the National Final.
Live Show
On February 1st the chosen six acts will perform their song along with a cover version of a different song (it is unknown if it has to be a ESC song). In the end the televoters and juries will pick the winning entry together. The show will take place in Kreuzlingen.

Good for Switzerland to have a later final. Interesting that the 2012 winner of SWEDEN was selected towards the end of the period while the 2013 winner of DENMARK was selected towards the start of the selection period. So I am not sure ifit is goood to select early or late?
