In Spetember 2013, Conchita Wurst was announced as the representative of Austria in for the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest by national broadcaster, ORF’s internal selection. Conchita had attempted to represent Austria in 2012 and ended 2nd in the Austrian final with the song ‘That’s What I Am’. Today Austria became the 36th country to reveal its song for Copenhagen, the song entitles ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’, written by Charly Mason, Joey Patulka, Ali Zuckowski and Julian Maas.
‘Rise Like A Phoenix’ is a James Bond style ballad, quite unlike Wurst’s previous attempt at representing Austria which was an upbeat disco number.
Austria will perform in the first half of the second Semi Final on the 8th of May.

Now 36 of the 37 participants are know, it is just Russia who are to reveal their entry, which is expected to be available today.

Conchita Wurst should do something special, a up tempo song with à strong message. This song says nothing for me. In in one ear out in the other!
