France really has no time to loose. After announcing this morning its representative for the 68th Eurovision Song Contest which will take place in Malmö, Sweden, France has decided to reveal its song for the contest in the same day, and it is Mon amour by Slimane.

The country becomes the very first one to reveal its song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, despite being the fourth one to reveal its representative (after Belgium, Cyprus and Greece).

Listen to “Mon amour” by Slimane

Here is France’s song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö: “Mon amour” by Slimane, which was revealed during the news on France 2.

Mon amour is an ode to romance and love “à la française” with a poetic yet strong melody and powerful vocals from Slimane. With this song, the artist showcases his love for his country and for romance. As he’s an amazing singer, we can’t wait to see him perform the song live!

The song was written “as a love letter to everyone who wants to receive it”, said Slimane during his interview with Anne-Sophie Lapix. Representing France in Eurovision is an amazing opportunity for Slimane who can’t wait to perform on the “iconic stage” of Malmö Arena.

Love is what “unites” people to him, which is why he wanted to talk about it.

The song is now available on all music platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music…).

Who is Slimane?

Slimane Nebchi, known as Slimane, was born in Chelles, near Paris, France, from Algerian parents on 13 October 1989 (not Taylor’s Version). He is a 34 years-old singer-songwriter, producer and actor and also a judge on The Voice Kids France.

After publishing song covers on his YouTube channel, he participated in several music contests in France — Popstar in 2007, Nouvelle Star (Idol) in 2009, X Factor in 2011 and Encore une chance in 2012 — before participating and winning the fifth season of The Voice France in 2016.

Shortly after that, he released his solo debut album called “A bout de rêves” (Dreamless), which includes his first hit single Paname (2016), which is certified double platinum in France.

In 2018, he released his second solo album called “Solune” (a mix between ‘sun’ and ‘moon’) and the following year, he release his first duo album with Vitaa, a famous French singer, called “VersuS” which is certified diamond in France. In 2020, both artists released a sequel to VersuS called “VersuS : Chapitre II” (chapter 2).

Two years later, he released in third solo album called “Chroniques d’un Cupidon” (A Cupid’s chronicles) which includes hits like La recette and Les amants de la colline featuring none other than La Zarra, his predecessor at Eurovision for France. La Zarra finished 16th with 104 points (54 from the jury and 50 from the televote) in Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool with the song “Evidemment”.

Slimane will surely aim to get a higher spot than La Zarra in Malmö with Mon amour, but we’ll have to listen to the competing songs before estimating his chances at doing so.
