As the new season is slowly picking up, broadcaster across Europe are preparing their shows, and Malta is one of those countries. For 2024, they’ve chosen to pick a total of 36 songs, that will be competing for the chance to represent the tiny island in Malmö. Last week, we got the very first 9 performances, and today we got the next 9 in line.
Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2024 – XOW Week 2
A reminder of the format, a total of 36 songs will be performed “live”, despite the show being pre-recorded. Here the artists will one by one show their vocal range and skill, and based on this, a jury and a televote will together pick 12 songs, which progress to the final. A voting window opened after all acts of the week had performed, and was kept open for a while, during the 2 hour program.
The nine acts competing this week were as follow(performing order):
- Marie Claire – “Fading”
- Franklin Calleja – “Puppet”
- Desirei Grech – “Watch Me”
- Sopranique – “Empire”
- Janvil – “Man”
- Haley Azzopardi – “Tell Me That It’s Over”
- Denise Mercieca – “Mara” (Woman)
- Mark Portelli – “Just Be”
- Maria Christina – “Moving On”
The results will not be revealed, before we reach week 5 of the program XOW, which is where the 12 finalists will be announced, currently set to be shown on the 24th of November.
Just like last week, the show also featured a little fun with both the hosts as well as the competitors of this week, which included a few interviews, a small game of charades and some guest performances, just to name a few things.
