‘Suspilne’ Broadcaster has announced that Ukraine will participate in ‘Eurovision 2024’ in Malmo, Sweden.
Dmytro Shnurov will remain to be Music Producer of ‘Vidbir’ for the second year in a row. He encourages everyone to be involved in the creation of a song that will conquer hearts of Europeans. In the release he stated:
“In a few days, the acceptance of applications for participation in the National Selection and the new Eurovision season in Ukraine will begin. I am appealing to everyone now: tune in, we have to create and choose the next song that will make the country proud, a song that will conquer the hearts of all of Europe and ignite a new star from Ukraine. A surprise awaits you this year — you can choose one of the finalists yourself. A lot of interesting things lie ahead…”
Head of Ukrainian Delegation, Olga Skybinska, said that there would be more introductions that will allow Ukrainians to be even more involved in the decision-making process of the competition. More information about these introductions and details of the competition are expected to be announced later this week when the start of songs submission period starts.
It is worth mentioning that 68th Eurovision song contest will take place in Malmo next year. Semi finals are expected to take place on 7th and 9th of May and grand final on 11th of May.
This year, Ukraine finished in 6th place with 243 points thanks to Tvorchi band with their track ‘Heart of Steel’.
