After several audition rounds the last few weeks, the final 4 acts that will compete in the Dutch national final Junior Songfestival have been announced in their latest YouTube video. One of these acts will represent The Netherlands the the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Nice, France.

After an open call, the Dutch Broadcaster AVROTROS received around 100 application for the selection. About 50 children were selected to audition and after two rounds, 9 were chosen to compete in the grand final. These finalists are divided in the 4 following acts we will see on 23 September:

  • Duron
  • Girlgroup Flare (Jikke, Hannah & Robine)
  • Girlgroup JOY! (Aimée, Sana & Gina)
  • Duo Sep & Jasmijn

About the acts

Duron
Duron (13) is the only soloist this year. In his song he sings about achieving his dreams. Everything is possible if you just believe in it.

Flare
The girl band Flare consists of Jikke (13), Hannah (13) and Robine (14). The three girls have been best friends since the auditions. Jikke and Hannah already knew each other before the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and sang a lot together as street musicians. Robine connects seamlessly with the girls with her musical talent and the three of them have a lot of fun. The girls’ song is about a real ‘girl friendship. They are always there for each other. No matter what.

JOY!
The name says it all: joy! That is really what these 3 girls radiate. Aimée (12), Sana (11) and Gina (12) are all happy. All three girls have already built up quite a bit of experience in showbiz. The girls come up with a happy song in which they sing about how much fun it is to dance together.

Sep & Jasmijn
After the mixed duo Max & Anne (winners Junior Eurovision 2018), here are Sep (13) & Jasmijn (13). During the auditions, their voices already fit together very nicely. In their song, the duo sings if they are just friends or is it more than that?

The songs of the acts will be released in the course of July. And the accompanying video clips will follow in August.

The Netherlands in Junior Eurovision

Last year, The Netherlands was represented by Luna and her song “La Festa” and opened the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2022 with this banger.  She finished 7th in Yerevan with 128 points.
