Famous Ukrainian singer and also ‘Vidbir 2016’ participant Svitlana Tarabarova will be the music producer for Junior Eurovision selection of Ukraine this year.
This news was announced in the social media of ‘Suspilne Eurovision’. Svitlana commented on this news saying that it is very important to create artistic ambiance and that Junior Eurovision is the best music festival of Europe for children nowadays.
Further to that, ‘Suspilne Eurovision’ has announced the criteria of selection. This year, the participants need to include two video recordings of their performance (One cover and one newly created song). Alternatively, two cover songs can be allowed. In case the participant without a song reaches the final, Suspilne will provide the finalist a new song.
As for the song criteria, Suspilne added that the song should not be released before 1th of May 2023 and its duration should be anywhere from 2,5 to 3 minutes. The lyrics of the song should be at least 60% in Ukrainian. Lastly, children that are anywhere from 9 to 14 are allowed to participate.
The longlist of 10 participants will be formed by 13th of July. After that, there will be auditions where 5 finalists are expected to be selected for online format final. Similarly to the last year, there will be 3 jury members that in their turn will be chosen through online voting.
