Get ready once again to see the highly successful country of Luxembourg on a Eurovision stage. The country with 5 wins in 37 appearances has just been announced as coming back to the contest after a 30-year-hiatus. This will be done with the help of RTL (a Luxembourgish television channel). This will mean that they will be responsible for the selection of the 2024 delegation, as well as the possible candidate to represent Luxembourg at the Contest. We have been told that RTL Luxembourg will broadcast all the live shows, alongside local commentary across all platforms. Regarding Luxembourg’s possible selection process, we will know more next month.
Martin Österdahl said the following in the announcement on the Eurovision website;
“We are thrilled to welcome back Luxembourg to the Eurovision Song Contest after 30 years. The country has one of the most successful records in the Contest with 5 wins in the first three decades of the competition alone. We very much look forward to working with RTL on their return to the world’s biggest live music event in 2024.”
Luxembourg’s latest win can be found over 40 years ago with Corinne Hermès’ “Si la vie est cadeau”. You can listen to that one here:
