The jokers are out and around, and we managed to find two of them in Liverpool, of course we’re talking about Joker Out from Slovenia. Two of their members were chilling in the Lush Lounge, so we thought we’d say a little bit more, than just a simple greeting.
Usually we love to get to know bands a bit better, by having them exposing each other a bit. But with only two of the members with us this time, we had a chance to throw a few arrows here and there. Can we trust Nace and Kris, that they won’t be tricking or fooling us?
Of course, it is all just pure love and fun among both fans and artists, so no hard feelings at all. However, we’d also like to hear what the future plans could be, which includes where would the band like to perform in the world or who would they like to collaborate with from this year’s contest? Maybe they’ll be near #YOU someday?
If you feel like wanting to know them a bit better than you already might do, then the band has made this special vlog series which you can watch below.
Slovenia made their debut back in 1993, but are even to this day the country is struggling with making a proper impression on Europe. 2023 will mark their 28th attempt at the contest, and they are yet to finish higher than 7th, which they achieved in 1995 and 2001. The country hasn’t been in the final since 2019, but they do qualify now and then, maybe 2023 is the year where they return to the final?
More on Joker Out
As pointed out in our interview, we spoke with two members of Joker Out, but the current line-up, there are 5 members. Other than Nace and Kris, we also have Jan, Jure and Bojan. The band was formed back in 2016 and originates from the capital of the country, Ljubljana.
The band has stormed their way into success, and are among one of the most popular ones in Slovenia today. They have released multiple singles, released two albums and won numerous awards and nominations as well.
This is why we have the honor of seeing them this year at the song contest. It is very rare, that the Slovenian broadcaster will go internally, rather than holding a national final, so someone must have a keen eye for the band, and soon they will have their chance to impress all of Europe.
How do #YOU find the boys from Joker Out to be like and do #YOU think they can improve Slovenia’s image in Europe this year?
Let’s hear from #YOU on our forum site right HERE, or visit us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, TikTok and Discord.
