The Belorussian broadcaster, BTRC announced that 15 contestants will take part in one national final that is scheduled to be aired in early January. Deadline for submitting entries is the 24th of November. A special jury will be holding auditions and the 15 lucky artists will be chosen to participate in the Final. The winning entry will be selected by a professional jury, in addition to a public televoting and will be sent to Copenhagen to represent Belarus in May.
Belarus has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest ten times, debuting in 2004. The country entered the contest in the same year that semi-finals began to be used to determine who would compete in the final.
Belarus has so far managed to qualify for the final three times, achieving their best score in 2007 with Dmitry Koldun’s “Work Your Magic” placing 6th.
