More details were revealed by Georgian Public Broadcasting (GPB) this morning about the country’s Junior Eurovision 2022 entry.

At 21:00 Georgia Standard Time (18:00 Central European Time), TV-1 will debut “I Believe,” Mariam Bigvava’s entry for Junior Eurovision 2022, during the news program Moambe.

Written by Giga Kukhianidze and Beni Kadagidze, with lyrics by Iru Kchechanov, “I Believe” is the second to last entry to be revealed of the Junior Eurovision season.

Kukhianidze is of course no stranger to Georgia at Junior Eurovision – he had a hand in all three of Georgia’s winning entries in 2008, 2011 and 2016, as well as Georgia’s entries for 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2020 and 2021.

The director of the “I Believe” music video is Zaza Orashvili, the conceptual artist is Shako Popiashvili, and the set designer is Iza Nadareishvili. Orashvili previously shot Georgia’s postcards for Eurovision 2017 as well as Iriao’s “For You” video for Eurovision 2018 and Giorgi Rostiashvili’s “We Need Love” video for Junior Eurovision 2019.

Back on June 18, 2022, Bigvava won the fifth season of Ranina, the popular TV-1 children’s vocal competition show where ten children are put through four themed “tours,” a semi-final and a final.

Though first to announce their artist, Georgia has recently been among the last to release their entry to the public, even though their regular songwriter has arguably the best record in the contest. With three wins and two second place finishes since their debut in 2007, Georgia has the winningest record at Junior Eurovision.

Junior Eurovision 2022 will be held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex on December 11, 2022, in Georgia’s neighbor Armenia’s capital Yerevan. This will be a good omen for Georgia as Candy’s “Candy Music” won Junior Eurovision 2011 for them at the exact same venue.
