RTVE has revealed Spain’s representative for this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022, to be held in Yerevan, Armenia.

During the airing of MasterChef Celebrity, Carlos Higes was revealed to be headed to JESC. Carlos was chosen from 95 applications that consisted of two rounds of auditions taking place in Madrid.

The fact that the contest is taking place in Yerevan adds a symbolic dimension when you learn that Carlos, following his Voice Kids audition, gave a performance of Karina Ignatyan’s Colour of your Dreams, Armenia’s 2019 JESC entry, in the Armenian language.

The song has not yet been chosen and will be done so internally. As of now, over 240 original songs have been sent to RTVE.
