Back in start February, Andrea just barely managed to clinch to victory of the national selection, but since then, she’s been in full preparation mode. Today the team behind the North Macedonian entry could finally reveal the revamped version of “Circles” along with the official music video.

North Macedonia in 2022

North Macedonia is still riding high after their magnificent 7th place finish in 2019 with Tamara Todevska. However, a minor step back took place in 2021, when Vasil failed to qualify for the final. Despite that, for 2022, the national broadcaster (MRT) decided to revert to a national final format, the first of it’s kind for the country, since 2015.

This is where Andrea‘s journey started, she was announced as one of the six shortlisted acts taking part in the national final. The national final was held in a online format with voting being open for about a week, and decided by a combo of jury votes and online votes. Here she managed to impress the juries to claim the win with them, but failed to impress the online voters as well, she was still announced as the winner in the end, for winning the jury vote, despite a tie with the televote winner.

Since then, she’s been working on preparing her act for Turin, had a chance to perform her song at the Romanian national final and even prepare her revamped version of her song “Circles” for today. Andrea Koevska originates from the capital of North Macedonia, Skopje, but has also live in New York, where her interest for music began to grow. She has cited Lauryn Hill & Hayley Williams of the band Paramore as her musical inspiration, as well as having an interest in gospel, R&B and pop music. Wanna learn more about Andrea? The premier of the revamped version of “Circles” was officially released on the official Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel at 15:00 CET, and is now publicly available. North Macedonia is set to perform in the second half of the second semi-final, which takes place on the 12th of May 2022 in Turin, Italy.
