After two weeks of speculation, Red Deer was eliminated on tonight’s new episode of The Masked Singer Belgium and revealed to be …. three time Eurovision winner Johnny Logan! In a bit of universal synergy, the 67-year-old Irish legend was unmasked the same night Brooke Scullion was crowned as his 2022 Eurovision successor on The Late Late Show.

This was the fourth episode of this season of The Masked Singer Belgium. In the previous three shows, the Eurovision icon performed “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele, “Sorry” by Justin Bieber, and “Diamonds” by Rihanna. On tonight’s episode, he performed a soulful rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons”:

“It’s been lovely being back in Belgium again,” he said, before noting that his second Eurovision victory came at the 1987 contest in Brussels.

Johnny Logan has been a popular guess for Red Deer among online fans since his performance in episode one. Ultimately, the two women on the panel tonight, singer Karen Damen and retired Olympian and guest judge Élodie Ouedraogo, correctly guessed his identity (see left).

Johnny Logan is only the second Eurovision veteran to appear on Belgium’s version of The Masked Singer franchise. Eurovision 1986 champion Sandra Kim won the show’s first season in 2020 as, fittingly, the Queen.

Have #YOU lbeen keeping up with all the Eurovision veterans who have performed on versions of The Masked Singer? There’s more than you’d think. (Stay tuned…..) Sound off in the comments below, in our forum, on social media @ESCUnited, or on our official Discord
