SBS have today announced the next three artists due to compete at Eurovision – Australia Decides!
Sheldon Riley, G-Nat!on and Andrew Lambrou will take to the stage on the Gold Coast in February, joining previously announced artists Paulini, Jaguar Jonze and 2017 Australian representative Isaiah Firebrace.
Sheldon Riley is an avant-garde performance artist known to audiences for reaching the finale on two seasons of The Voice Australia, as well as competing in America’s Got Talent in 2020. For Sheldon, watching Eurovision “has always been a highlight, waking up at 5am every year to watch from Australia… I always dare to dream, in my fashion and my music, bringing that little bit of Eurovision magic with me every time. It would be an honour to represent Australia and bring my sparkle to Europe!”
G-Nat!on is a six-piece girl group from Adelaide specialising in R&B and pop. They are most well-known for reaching the final of The Voice Australia in 2021 under the guidance of Rita Ora, and will be sure to deliver all the harmonies you could ask for and more! Emma from the group said “It is so exciting to be a part of the creativity, inspiration and diversity that Eurovision brings every year, and we cannot wait to bring our song to life on the national stage. We hope our performance inspires other young people to be strong, powerful and confident in themselves – see you on the Gold Coast!”
Andrew Lambrou is a Sydney-based singer-songwriter who competed on The X Factor Australia in 2015, and has built up an online following of millions by posting covers on Youtube, but waited until this year to release his first original music. Andrew too grew up watching Eurovision with his family, “admiring all that goes into it and seeing artists show their craft to the world, and to be a part of this show is like a dream come true. I’m so excited to show Australia my artistry, and to potentially represent my country in this amazing song contest is the most encouraging thought for me.”
