The Serbian cyclone known as “HURRICANE” has landed in Rotterdam, closing Day 3 rehearsals. Let’s discuss them below.

Country: Serbia (#SER)
Act: Hurricane
Song: “Loco Loco”
Semifinal: Second (20/05/2021)
Position in Running Order: 09/17

Hurricane live up to their name: The three ladies perform “Loco loco” with a lot of gusto, keeping track with the song’s unforgiving tempo. The stylistic backdrop (Black and white rectangles in the shape of banners) helps them stand out on the stage, which has been darkened. (A smart move, as Hurricane are on the stage by themselves, without back up singers or dancers).

It’s a pretty standard performance like one you might expect from Hurricane. Both the choreography and the vocals (as well as the overal performance energy) are executed with impunity. During the second rehearsal, purple smoke and firecrackers are added to further accentuate “Loco loco”s inherent fierceness. Serbia also avoid the cyan-and-magenta colour scheme we saw with previous uptempo entries, sticking to a strict, but effective black and white.

Overall, we all thought Hurricane delivered a good rehearsal. If they can retain this level of performance, the semifinal will be all but a formality.
