Yesterday, our editorial team reviewed all four Dutch entries fighting it out to represent their country at Junior Eurovision in Gliwice-Silesia, Poland, on November 24, 2019.

We also asked #YOU to tell us your favourite, and #YOU arrived at the same conclusion: The four member group Moves, with “Make Your Move,” should advance from the national final to Junior Eurovision 2019.

Connor and Melanie were particularly effusive in praise for “Make Your Move,” each giving the song a score of 9 out of 10. Melanie said, “This is the kind of song that will make you dance from the very first minute. The bridge really built up well and then the drop kicks in… This song is fresh, it’s fun and I really think that it would be real contender for the win in Gliwice. And to be honest, I think this also would be my jam if it was published in my younger days.”

Connor concurred on the fun part, adding “I think this would actually make a pretty interesting entry for the adult contest, and so I was really surprised to hear this one. What I really enjoy about this song is the fact that every section is different. The verses are a different beat structure than the chorus, but they put it over an ostinato piano chord progression.”

In a narrow vote, #YOU voted for Moves, with the four piece winning 48% of the vote. Matheu was in close second, with 45% of the vote. 6% voted for Mannes Bakker, but no-one voted for 6Times.

Will Moves prevail in tonight’s national selection? While we wait, give “Make Your Move” a listen.
