This Eurovision season is gonna be one of the biggest so far. ČT, the Czech national broadcaster, has announced that they will organize a national final to select their representative for Lisbon, first one since 2009.

According to their HoD, Mr Jan Bors, about 400 songs were sent since September till November 17th, and the selection committee has chosen six diverse songs that will be published on January 8th and people will not be able just to hear them, but also to vote for their favorites. The public vote will make one half of the votes, while the other one will come from international juries.

Just to remind you that Czech Republic came back to Eurovision in 2015, after a five year break and their last three representatives were chosen internally. In 2016 Gabriela Gunčíková brought the countries first qualification for the Grand Final with the song “I Stand”.

We now move on to the Balkans, as RTV SLO, the Slovene national broadcaster has published the names of sixteen EMA participants and also the song titles.

  • Anabel – Pozitiva
  • BQL – Ptica
  • Gregor Ravnik – Zdaj je čas
  • Ina Shai – V nebo
  • Indigo – V nebo
  • KiNG FOO – Žive sanje

You can see a few familiar names that have participated in this years edition, but more notable are two former representatives – ManuElla & Tanja Ribič.

The winner will be chosen by an equal mix of televotes and 6 juries (singers, composers, radio and tv personalities, OGAE members and international jury).

This May, Omar Naber came back to Kiev to represent Slovenia again, after doing the same in 2005, but he was unfortunate and didn’t pass the semifinal with his song “On My Way”.

Last, but not the least, we go all the way down under.

Today SBS has announced that they will reveal the next Australian act on Monday.

This year Isaiah came to Ukraine and he finished 9th with the ballad “Don’t Come Easy”
