At a press conference earlier today, San Marino’s Eurovision team announced that their entry for Eurovision 2018 will be determined by an open Internet call. In the casting call (which you can watch here), they emphasize their search for any and all genres. The press conference made clear that San Marino are interested in entries from artists with any level of industry experience. San Marino are partnering with 1in360 for this event and will be accepting submissions from October 21st until November 30th before making the final decision in a series of live shows starting in January. Full details can be found here on their website.
The press conference also saw various officials in San Marino’s Eurovision sphere touch on issues surrounding the nation’s participation, including the inherent difficulties faced by microstates in Eurovision. However, the tone of the conference was jovial and ultimately optimistic.
What do #YOU think? Can this new approach bring San Marino success?
