Every year our “Expert” Panel comes together to judge all entries for the Eurovision Song Contest and they’re back to take apart the 2013 entries and rank them accordingly. While their characters and comments may be wacky, the scores are dead serious. All 13 panelists will comment on the song and rank them accordingly giving it points using a scale from five to zero. The day after yesterday comes before tomorrow where I was in Malta. Gianluca is my preferred physician, he gives me prescription medication for my intermittent diseases. His voice is full of happiness and awesomeness, good match for his song. It is like taking 10 pills of anti depressant. What a perfect song for perfect happiness.

If I can rate cuteness in a song, this would get the maximum points. It makes me smile whenever I listen to it! This song wakes up the sweetest part of me!

The song is a cute love story between Jeremy and She. I’m not sure why her mother named her that but that’s for another time. I think the song is sooooo cute, it’s giving me a cavaty. And I’ll let Gianluca do some risk assassment on me any day.

A cute little song with an ukulele. Some to sing daily. This is very different and alone in it’s genre. The chorus feels like a mantra. For alone guys and girls all over Europe. This could have a big chance, this song of syrup.

Eau: Look at what we have here. It’s from a former colony of the United Queendom! It’s always a miracle to me how those countries can cope without the support of our queendom…
Oh dear, the singer looks like one of those hapless lads in deodorant advertorials that turn into a somewhat acceptable looking gentleman after spraying some of those odours onto himself.
Liz: Ooooh, I like the song from our former colony. It’s so charming and cheerful. And that mini guitar makes it complete. It’s just so sweet and cute. (to be continued)

For years now I have been wanting Malta to send Jo Zette. WHY MALTA!? WHY YOU NO SEND JO ZETTE!? You have sent this younga gentleman instead. He a nice. I like. Song is rather pleasant, has a charm both the song and the singer. This is much better than your recent efforts but next year I expect to see Jo Zette enter with “I’m Me (part 2)”.

This “flower-power song” exudes so much happiness and good humor so it makes me smile. Maybe in the semifinal he will improve his performance, but anyway is a breath of fresh air in the contest; somehow nice, but a bit repetitive.

This reminds me of a Bruno Mars song so comparing it to that- it can’t be that bad! It tells a nice story which makes a change! It’s acheerful song with good vocals. Will it succeed on to the final? If it’s stuckbetween two boring entrants then people will remember it. However, SOME maythink it’s cheesy. It’s not overly‘cool’ so I shouldn’t really be seen watching the video but hey! Malta hastried harder this year than last which is a start.

If he wants a lass, then he should come to me I know every trick in the book to attract a girl! But build up the voice and you will get 1!

Sweet composition in country style. Can’t say that it’s a very good entry, but at least it’s not awful and nice enough to spend time for listening to it. Guitar part suits the whole content very much and it gives to a song a bit retro flavor. Bad vocalists harmonize with the music and don’t ruin the song at all.

This reminds me of something from a supermarket advert? Is it 2 for 1 day? Because I need more curry. This song is sweet, I can’t deny it. It plods along nicely and is a real feel good number. The chorus is fairly catchy and I quite like the instrumentation. Like several songs this year, It lacks the impact of a song that is gunning for victory. It’s an inoffensive, decent effort that might just make it to the final, although it will probably finish in the bottom 5. Malta’s best effort since 2010.

I’m sorry Gianluca, but I just don’t like abstract thoughts and metaphors, that’s why the idea of turning something so savoury as an egg into something as sweet as meringue has always evaded me. That, and the inability to separate egg yolks from egg whites. Regardless Mr. Bezzina, how can someone be like tomorrow? Ridiculous. Next!

Quite forgettable. I had to hear it again to judge it. Oh right. This is the weak version of a random “American Pie” soundtrack. I had a student like him once and he used to skip classes often. Perhaps it is him? I shall award this only one point then. Sounds like a mudblood to me.
