2 days to go for the national final in Georgia. Today we had time to talk to Nutsa who will participate with the entry “White Horses Run”

Hello Nutsa

First of all thank you for your time talking to us. How are you ? Can you introduce yourselves ? What can you tell us about yourself?

Im doing great, thank you very much! I’m 19 years old, I started singing when I was only 1 years old, from that age I couldn’t stop performing and singing. I started playing on the piano when I was 7 years old,but to tell the truth I didn’t enjoyed any of my piano lessons haha.I was also 7 years old when I started singing in the girl band called “MZIURI”. We were playing on the instruments live and singing was such a big experience for me.
I started participating in the competitions when I was 8 years old. I had my first Diploma when I won one contest called “Voice from Georgia”. I decided to participate in “Georgia’s got talent” at the age 13 years old and  I got in Semifinals. At the age of 14 I started studying in the most popular studio in Georgia called “Georgian dream studios”. There I studied Vocal,Choreography,Music History, music theory, guitar, piano for 1 year. We had teachers invited from America. GDSTV invited me on their TV show called “Your Face Sounds Familiar’ when I was 16 years old and I got on finals. At the age of 17 I represented my country Georgia at the international contest in Latvia called “New Wave”. There were singers competing from 16 countries and I won. When I came back to Georgia, the whole country loved me and I got famous. I participated also in the TV show “Dancing with the stars”, there unfortunately I’ve broke my leg. and at the age of 18 I decided that I wanted to move to Turkey. While in Turkey I’ve participated in ” The voice of Turkey”, my mentor was Eurovision star Hadise. I was in semifinals but I couldn’t win because I didn’t sing any Turkish song. and now while I’m 19,I’m hoping  to win the Georgia’s national selection for Eurovision 2017 with my song “White Horses Run“. My goal for 2017 is to study in Los angeles.I want to study Musical theatre.

Your song that you will be presenting for the national final in Georgia is “White Horses Run”. What can you tell us about the song?

The song “White Horses Run” was written by British songwriters Andy Vitolo and John King. When the songwriters sent me this song I truly loved it!! I’ve imagined myself singing and performing this song with the whole choreography.”White horses run” is about losing someone that you love very much. I think everybody can relate to this song even me when I’m singing this song I’m feeling it with my whole body, with my whole mind. It’s like I’m moving into another world and doing everything to express my feelings and emotions. I’m very emotional and if people feel my energy, my spirit,my emotion then will say “I’ve made it”.

What was the inspiration for the song, and did you write it specifically for the national final in Georgia and Eurovision?

This song was written for the National Final in Eurovision. It’s written to win.

What is your impression of the Eurovision Song Contest in general? Do you watch it every year? What is your favourite entry?

Yes, I watch eurovision every year! I just love how they make a show from every song, that’s really amazing and inspiring! From Georgia my favorite entry was my friend “Sopho Khalvashi’s ”Visionary Dream”, me and Sopho are friends for 6 years also we have sang a lots of duets together:) From other countries, Jamala’s 1944 is my favorite song, she is such a strong women I love her, Jamala won the same contest as I won ” New wave” she won “New wave 2009” and I won “new wave 2014”. So I also know her as a person from this contest and I can tell that I never seen a singer as humble as she is.

Apart from the Eurovision Song Contest , where would you dream to do a performance?

I have some really big dreams and goals! I dream to do a performance on the Grammy’s !

Has being on tv made you more self-conscious?

No, actually I was when I first started but now, it’s just general. I never worry about what someone thinks about me or my actions. They don’t know me in person,so for me it is  important what my close friends are thinking about me or my performances or appearances or about my actions.

What ís the best bit of advice that you would like to share with our readers?

That you have to think like a Queen. A queen is not afraid to fail, failure is another stepping stone to success! Always, always stay focused and work hard for your dreams! Never stop trying cause when you do that’s when you fail! Also positivity is the key! Trust me! Let go all the negativity and surround yourself only with people who will help you to reach a higher step in life! Thats the advice that I would like to give to everyone:)

What’s your biggest fear?

Snakes and spiders haha. But in my daily life I’m afraid t to loose people that I love the most.I care for them so much I have that fear always.

What is a typical day like for you?

I can’t imagine my days without vocal warm-ups,training, singing and dancing! hahah:) My day starts with a coffee for sure! Then I go to the gym cause I love working out, it gives me a lot of positive energy for the whole day. Then I go to the vocal lesson. After I have a rehearsals. If I don’t have meetings then I meet my friends. We often go out for dinner or lunch. At the end of the day I like to go to spa, or go to the restaurant , or maybe sometimes club.  Till my bedtime I like reading books or watching movies.
