A two-part ceremony will officially welcome the artists and delegations of 2016 to Stockholm on Sunday 8th May, according to SVT.

The glittering, glamorous occasion is one of the highlights of the Eurovision fortnight and will see two parts implemented for this year; the Red Carpet ceremony we are all familiar with and the Opening Reception for artists, with an after-party for press and accredited fans.

This year’s presenters Måns Zelmerlöw and Petra Mede will lead the procession of artists down the 94-metre red carpet, which will be laid next to the Euroclub complex in Gamla Stan. The City Hall will play host to the Opening Reception once all artists have made their way across the red carpet.

The most interesting piece of news from the announcement is the after-party to be held at Euroclub. The artists will also be in attendance at the party, marking the first big chance for artists, delegations, press and fans to enjoy the atmosphere together!
