As previously announced, Ira Losco, the Maltese superstar, is finally returning to the Maltese National Final for the Eurovision Song Contest. Ira has two songs in the Semi-Final for Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016, could her latest single “Haunted By Love” be a taste of what “Chameleon (invincible)” and “That’s why I love you” could sound like?
Ira Losco wowed Europe in 2002 when she took to the Eurovision stage and narrowly missed out on the victory in Tallinn with her entry “7th Wonder”. In 2016 she will be hoping to go one place better and bring the trophy back to Malta. This week Ira has released her latest single “Haunted By Love”, which, if this is a taste of what to expect from her Eurovision hopefuls, then Ira will get her wish, and we could be watching Eurovision 2017 live from Valletta (or Marsa, or Ta’ Qali).
“Haunted by Love” is the first single from Ira’s forthcoming album, which will be released in 2016. This will be her 5th studio album. The track is a modern, drum and bass tune which was produced by Howard Kieth. The video features boxing champion Bertu Camilleri, who plays the part of Ira’s trainer in the video.
Ira has stated: “I’m glad to be ending 2015 with the release of the first single from a new body of work we’ve been working very hard on. Although there’s still lots of work to do, we already have 18 tracks A-listed from around 40 tracks and I’m looking forward to release the album in 2016.”
Ira Losco will take part with two songs, “Chameleon (invincible)” and “That’s why I love you”, in the Maltese National Final for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, which begins on the 22nd of January and concludes on the 23rd of January, when she will be hoping to be crowned the Maltese representative in the Eurovision Song Contest for a second time.
