Today, NRK, the Norwegian national Broadcaster have contacted the acts who have failed to make it to the final round of this year’s Melodi Grand Prix. The broadcaster have been working hard on whittling down the songs since the deadline passed and MGP’s head of music, alongside a jury have now selected the 10 finalists. NRK have contacted the acts who narrowly missed out on the final.
The 10 songs have not been announced and are not expected until the weeks before the televised final, which will be held on the 27th of February 2016.
The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Stockholm, Sweden in May. Norway have been rather successful in Eurovision in recent years, they ahve only failed to qualify for the final twice since the semi-finals were introduced, also, during this time they have been top 10 six times, this includes the last 3 years where they have ended 8th twice and 4th. Will this success continue in 2016?
