With the statement from Bulgarian HoD that BNT has not applied to participated in Stockholm and Jan Ola Sand’s report that there are currently 41 countries running in next years contest the questions started to rise again.
Yesterday, one of the best newspaper in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Dnevni Avaz, reported that the saga about countires’ participation still hasn’t came to an end. As they found out, EBU gave to BHRT, Bosnian national broadcaster, time to find the money till end of December and that the final decision will be made next week.
Lejla A. Babović, head of International Affairs in BHRT, said for avaz.ba that they are doing their best to find a solution and close the financial construction for Eurosong 2016 project.
And even though Lejla didn’t want to speak about potential representatives, Dnevni Avaz is reporting that it could be trio made of Deen, who represented Bosnia in 2004 in Istanbul, Dalal Midhat-Talakić, popular female singer and famous Croatian cello player Ana Rucner.
Contacting Deen, he said that he doesn’t know anything about this, that he would like to go back to Eurovision one day and that he thought that it was promised to Hari Varešanović (2006) that he will the next representative, but hold up his words as the trio was seen going into a meeting with BHRT togheter.
The deal with these three artists is now depending only on the participation fee that BHRT has to pay to EBU, and its about 25.ooo euros.
Now this clears things a bit and it seems that after three years of absence we will see Bosnia & Herzegovina back at Eurovision.
Just to jog your memory, Bosnia & Herzegovina is one of the few countries that has managed to qualify for the Grand Final every single time. Their best result was with Hari Varešanović in 2006, with Lejla, song composed by Željko Joksimović.
