Is Douwe Bob set to become 2016's first performer?
Douwe Bob becomes the first artist confirmed for 2016!

Many fan sites are now reporting one of the most recent strong rumours in the Eurovision world as fact – Douwe Bob is set to represent the Netherlands in 2016 and will be hoping to bring the country back to the final after a year out.

Previously, Dotan was being strongly linked with Eurovision but it appears this is once again a false rumour, as with in 2015. The EBU and the official Eurovision media channels have not yet confirmed the news so we will keep you updated once this is confirmed.

EDIT: Douwe Bob has now been confirmed by AVROTROS as the Dutch artist for 2016!

Douwe Bob is a 22-year old singer-songwriter who won the show De beste singer-songwriter van Nederland in 2012, a show that aimed to find the most promising rising singer-songwriter talent in the country. Since the show he has released two albums, Born in a Storm (2013) and Pass it On, released in May 2015. Bob had worked with Anouk for the second album, who represented the Netherlands in 2013 and also helped to write “Walk Along” which was entered by the country this year.
