MAÑANA is the day and we cannot hide our excitement. The secret is going to be unveiled: we will finally hear “Amanecer” –  the Spanish entry for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest!

Speculation had been running high for months. It was not until January that we knew it was Edurne. Then they told us the song was “innovative” , “unlike any other Spanish entry in Eurovision”. The track is entitled “Amanecer” (Sunrise) and it was composed by three familiar names : Peter Boström, Thomas G:son and Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson.  G:sson and Boström were behind Loreen’s Euphoria and Tony Sánchez composed “Quédate conmigo”, which also had a phenomenal success in Spain. Looks promising!

They have kept us waiting for long. We only got to hear a short snippet and see the initial scenes of the video. They told us Edurne was dressed as a “Hellenic warrior”. We even saw Rosa López’s (Spain 2002) reaction when she was given the privilege to hear the song.

“Amanecer” will premiere tomorrow at 12 am (local time) in RTVE.es. The video will be released on March 9th.

It looks like the Spanish entrant will have a busy time in the following weeks. Now everything is ready for this señorita to take Europe by storm!

¡Buena suerte!
