It has been announced today that the representative of Australia in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be announced at 9am AEST on the 5th of March which is 23:00CET on the 4th of March.
It was announced by the Michael Ebeid, CEO of SBS (Australian broadcaster), that the announcement will be at the beginning of March. No other details have been revealed, so it is still unclear as to who will be flying the Australian flag in Vienna, but, for not, at least we have a date to look forward to.
Rumours are flying around the internet as to who will be taking to the Vienna stage for the guest country, but, SBS are taking tips from the BBC and keeping things very top secret.
Australia will debut at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, and will be, essentially, a part of the new Big 6, being granted a direct pass to the final on the 23rd of May.
