This Is Serious, Australia: Petition calls for TISM to represent the country

The Australian public have already taken well to the Eurovision fever, and many are beginning to think about who could be the special Australian entrant. One person already has a pretty good idea of who they want!

Andrew Wade, a resident of Australia, has begun a petition to reform quirky cult band TISM (This Is Serious, Mum) to represent the country in Vienna. The petition has already gathered over 6,600 and calls on the band to reunite for the first time since 2004 to sing at the contest.

TISM, characterised by their anonymity, eclectic genres and satirical lyrics, had a large underground following in the country during the band’s 22 year career.

It is currently unknown who will represent Australia or how the entry will be chosen but it seems likely there will be an internal selection. Perhaps we could see a reformed TISM in Vienna?

The petition can be found HERE.
