Matt has reviewed the ten songs of Heat w in A Dal 2013, the Hungarian National Selection. Six songs will progress to the semi-finals: three via televoting and three via jurors. Matt then chooses his top 6. He was 4/6 last week. How will he do this week?
ByeAlex – Kedvesem
A slower song that is very memborable and has a strong chorus. What really stood out to me the most is the orchestration which puts you in a different mood for three minutes. This could do really well.
Gyula Elias – Mindhalalig varni rad
The singer has a powerful voice and managed to capture my attention immediately. I don’t know Hungarian but I can tell he means every word he sings. Overall a good song with a great Rock vibe.

Veca Janicsák – Uj generacio
This one has a really nice beat to it and I like her voice. It’s a solid effort however it’s slightly too messy for my taste. With the right staging this may surprise.
szólj hozzá: Janicsák Veca – Új generáció
Kallay-Saunders – My Baby
It’s catchy though I admit that musically it’s nothing ground breaking. It’s a great sing-along entry (just like any shalala song). Another pleasant vocalist which is something I appreciate, this may be a grower.
Odett – Ne engedj el
The first minute of the song is a bit boring but picks up with the chorus. I really enjoy the deep male vocals, it adds a depth to the song that overall is quite flat. I just don’t know if it’s going to be enough to impress the televoters and juries.
Plastikhead feat. Laci Gaspar – A szeretet el
The entry starts rather slow with emphasis on keyboard and vocals, switching to dance music halfway through the song. It’s the kind of music I can definitely see televoters would enjoy so this has a good chance of qualifying.
Rami – Puzzle
A beautiful woman with a song that seems a bit too messy and a melody that fails to impress. There are better upbeat songs in this Semi and since this one doesn’t seem to be too memorable I fear it won’t make the cut.
Adam Szabo – Hadd legyen mas!
I love the sound of accordion but it doesn’t work well with the song’s monotone arrangement and pace. Maybe the live performance will add the energy the song needs to make a difference.
szólj hozzá: Szabó Ádám – Hadd legyen más
Tamas Vastag – Holnaptol
A ballad that feels draggy from the beginning and never really manages to hit the spot. The song is quite forgettable and I have a feeling it won’t survive the Semi Final.
Gabi Volgyesi – Csak te legy
This could do well, not my cup of tea but I have to admit that it is memorable and stands out. My favorite part is the powerful bridge. If this is performed well this should sail through to the Finals.

I think both Semis are equally strong. Both of them have songs that stand out. My favorite song in this Semi is “My baby”

I like the title PUZZLE. I love puzzles. I did a 3000 piece puzzle of STOCKHOLM and itr hangs now in my music room! I couldnot get one of MALMO, so I had to settle for Stockholm instead. I like easy catchy titles
