Sad news have reached us this morning: Bulgaria won’t return to Eurovision next year. The Bulgarian broadcaster BNT confirmed their withdrawal to the fan site esctoday.com, stating financial problems as their main reason to stay out once again. They had previously submitted a preliminary application but decided to pull out within the final deadline.
The full list of participants will be published by the EBU, presumably in January. Tomorrow San Marino is expected to make their final decision regarding their participation in Vienna.
Bulgaria participated from 2005 until 2013. They only managed to qualify to the final once – Elitsa & Stoyan’s Water managed to finish as high as fifth.
