The Dutch rumour mill claims their 2015 entrant has already been chosen. According to several newspapers that refer to insider sources, the singer Alain Clark will represent the Netherlands in Vienna next year. Apparently the Dutch singer wants to focus on an international career (he just signed a contract with an American record label) which means entering Eurovision would be a logical next step.

Now it has been confirmed by an AVROTROS spokesperson that Alain Clark is indeed in the running for Eurovision 2015. However, he is just one of several potential candidates. The broadcaster still encourages newcomers as well as established artists to indicate their interest in the competition.

Who is Alain Clark?
Alain Clark is certainly not a newcomer in the Dutch music industry. He has already published a total of five studio albums. His 2010 record Colorblind even reached the top position in the official Dutch charts. He has also worked as a producer for several other artists and received the prestigious Zilveren Harp, an annual award given to musical talents.

This year the Netherlands were represented by the country duo The Common Linnets with their song Calm after the Storm. They managed to become the runner-up of this year’s contest and thus achieved the best Dutch result since their last victory in 1975.

Would Alain Clark be an appropriate successor of The Common Linnets? Tell us what you think!
