A few hours ago the Austrian broadcaster ORF announced that the 60th Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Vienna. Despite Innsbruck being more financially generous, the capital managed to score with a more convincing overall concept.
Host duo already decided?
Today (Thursday) at 11:00, ORF will hold an official press conference regarding further details and financial aspects of the event. Alexander Wrabetz, the general director of the broadcaster, already gave away a few details regarding the show in an interview. “Wiener Stadthalle will be a fascinating location with the green room being located right in the middle of the audience,” Wrabetz said. It looks like even the hosts have already been chosen. “And regarding the host duo there will be a big, positive surprise,” he added.
Further planning
It has been reported that the official slogan for next year’s Eurovision will be presented by the end of August. In September the host broadcaster ORF and the EBU will sign official contracts. The exact budget and official theme art will be presented in October. It is also likely that Austria will organise a national final in order to find the artist that will represent them on home ground.
