With the oncoming excitement about Montenegro’s return to Eurovision and the announcement of Montesong 2024, there has been a change in the competition’s lineup ahead of the show.
Namely, Boban Rajović, one of the Montesong 2024 finalists, has announced his withdrawal from the competition, citing personal reasons.
“I think it’s unnecessary to speak about my desire to represent Montenegro at Eurovision, but it simply wasn’t meant to be this year, which doesn’t mean my wish won’t come true in the future,” Rajović wrote in his message.
Rajović also extended his support to the other Montesong finalists, expressing his hope that the song with the most audience votes will take the win.
The Selection Committee had initially selected three backup entries in case any finalists failed to meet the contest’s requirements. In Rajović’s place, Tamara Živković will now join the lineup with her song “Poguban let.”
The official Montesong YouTube channel will release all of this year’s entries in just a few days, giving fans a first listen ahead of the national selection event.
The last Montenegrin representative in Eurovision was Vladana Vučinić, who performed “Breathe” at the 2022 contest in Turin, Italy.
