Radio Televisión Española (RTVE) has officially closed the submission window for Benidorm Fest 2025, ending a 144-day period that attracted nearly 1,000 song entries by the October 10 deadline. This national competition has once again opened the door for artists across genres to compete for a spot on the Eurovision stage, with this year’s winner set to represent Spain in Basel in 2025.

In the final rush, RTVE received approximately 300 applications on the last day alone. The response from artists has been overwhelmingly diverse, reflecting a variety of genres, influences, and styles. Among these entries, there was one song that is a first in this competition – created using artificial intelligence. Additionally, this year saw a higher number of submissions from women than men.

Music experts Rayden, Pablo Cebrián, Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson, and Beatriz Luengo will sift through submissions to select the top 16 contenders. These chosen finalists will participate in two semi-finals, set for January 28 and January 30, with the grand finale scheduled for February 1. The eight best entries from the semi-finals will move on to the final showdown, where one will earn the honor of representing Spain at Eurovision.

Last year, Nebulossa took the spotlight as Spain’s Eurovision 2024 entry with their song “Zorra,” ultimately finishing in 22nd place in Malmö, Sweden. And this year, our eyes are set on Spain again!
