The 2024 chapter will in mere days, soon be fully over and 2025 will soon be ringing in, and Denmark is not waisting any time on that regard. DR (The Danish national broadcaster) has this morning, announced where next year’s national selection will take place, so it’s soon time to mark those calendars.

Back into the box

This arena shouldn’t be a huge surprise to viewers who’ve paid attention in the past, the arena, which is placed in the city of Herning, has great experience with hosting the event. The arena has nonetheless been the hosting venue for the national final, 4 times in the past, since 2013. With 2025 marking the 5th time, in the span of 12 years, with the most recent contest taking place there in 2022.

The box hold a special place to Danish fans, as this is where also the place where Emmelie De Forest was selected to represent the country, back in 2013.

The arena will host both the junior edition, as well as the national final. With the juniors participating in the televised event the week before the national final. Meanwhile the national final, has already been set for the 1st of March 2025.

Show producer, Erik Struve Hansen, has expressed that he already looks forward to next year’s show.

  • This year, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix managed to gather more than 1 million viewers for a musical party, in the living rooms across the country. I’m looking forward to, that we can gather people to another party evening, in the sign of music.

More about hosts and participants will be revealed in the coming months. Until then, Denmark will soon be represented by SABA at the 2024 contest.
