We started at 24 and we’re already down to the last 9 left. Last week 14 acts qualified for tonight’s German semi-final, after having performed cover or original songs. Now, we actually got the chance to hear the songs in contention for the actual contest.
Chefsache ESC 2025 – Wer singt für Deutschland? – Semifinal
To go into details, last week saw all 24 acts perform either covers or some of their own original songs, in order to impress the jury. This was done across two shows, with 12 in each and with 7 qualifiers from each of the two heat shows, which gave us tonight’s 14 semifinalists.
Tonight on the other hand, the 14 semifinalists performed their potential songs for the actual contest and once again, their job was to impress to in-house jury.
These were the 14 semifinalists who performed tonight in the following order:
- Feuerschwanz – “Knightclub”
- Benjamin Braatz – “Like You Love Me”
- Cloudy June – “If Jesus Saw What We Did Last Night”
- Cosby – “I’m Still Here”
- Jaln – “Weg Von Dir”
- From Fall to Spring – “Take The Pain Away”
- Jonathan Henrich – “Golden Child”
- Abor and Tynna – “Baller”
- Leonora – “This Bliss”
- Julika – “The Empress”
- Lyza – “Lovers On Mars”
- Moss Kena – “Nothing Can Stop Love”
- The Great Leslie – “These Days”
- Cage – “Golden Hour”
The show was once again broadcasted on the private German channel RTL. The reason for that is due to the co-operation between the national German broadcaster and the private broadcaster. This will not be the case for the final, since that will be broadcaster on Das Erste.
Semifinal – Results
As pointed out before, the 14 acts had to impress the in-house jury. Once again, the jury was fully in charge of deciding who remains in the race for the German ticket to Basel, and it will also be the last time. Just like in the heats, the jury once again consisted of Elton, Yvonne Catterfeld and mastermind behind this new format Stefan Raab. A small change was this week’s guest judge, which was Max Giesinger.
Together, the 4 jury members decided the following songs to advance to the final:
- Abor and Tynna – “Baller”
- Benjamin Braatz – “Like You Love Me”
- Cosby – “I’m Still Here”
- Feuerschwanz – “Knightclub”
- The Great Leslie – “These Days”
- Julika – “The Empress”
- Leonora – “This Bliss”
- Lyza – “Lovers On Mars”
- Moss Kena – “Nothing Can Stop Love”
With that, the juries are no longer a worry of the remaining competitors, because the final next week, will be fully decided by the public. To be exact, the final is set to take place on the 1st of March.
