Metalcore outfit “From Fall to Spring” first tried their hand at Germany’s national selection in 2023, and are back this year for Chefsache ESC 2025 – Wer singt für Deutschland? After making it through Heat 2 with an original song, “CONTROL,” they will debut their official Chefsache ESC 2025 entry song in Saturday’s semi-final. We asked them about their experience, the state of rock in Eurovision, and what they have in store for 2025.
So what made you decide to participate in Chefsache – and potentially Eurovision – this year?
We’re participating again because Eurovision is totally our thing! In 2023, we were part of the pre-selection on TikTok and realized how incredibly warm and welcoming the Eurovision community is – we felt right at home. We’ve been fans for years, so we thought: Why not give it another shot?
How has your national selection experience been?
We’re totally blown away by the amazing entries from the other artists – everyone is super nice and talented! The whole production is incredibly professional, and we’re really excited to be part of Chefsache 2025!
What would going to Eurovision for Germany mean to you?
It would be a huge honor to join the ranks of Germany’s amazing Eurovision acts and represent the country. Plus, bringing rock back to Eurovision would be a big goal for us!
Metalcore remains an underrepresented genre at Eurovision, although alternative entries have seen some success in recent years (such as Finland’s Blind Channel in 2021). With Eurovision fans having something of a reputation for favoring pop entries, do you have any concerns about appealing to a wider audience?
Of course, we know that rock and metal bands are underrepresented at Eurovision, but that’s exactly what makes it exciting! It brings a cool contrast and sounds different from the rest.
Are they any artists from past editions of the contest that you look up to?
Måneskin, because they really proved that rock has a chance at Eurovision, and Blind Channel, because their style is very close to ours. We were lucky enough to play a show with them before their Eurovision participation – such great people.
I know you’re busy this week preparing for the semi-final. Can you describe your staging in one word?
Strength!
Besides Chefsache and your upcoming European tour, what are your plans for 2025?
We’re currently in the process of finishing our second full album, which will be released later this year. Our Eurovision single will, of course, be featured on it. We believe we’ve found more of our style and sound and have taken a real step up from our 2023 album, Rise. The tour is also selling really well; we’ve already sold out some stops and upgraded venues, allowing us to plan a much bigger show and setup.
Any final messages for fans?
Thank you so much for your support in the Eurovision community! We truly appreciate all your comments and are thrilled by the positive feedback we’ve received. Be sure to check out our new single, “Take the Pain Away,” which we released on Friday, February 21st!
The semi-final of Chefsache ESC 2025 will take place on Saturday, February 22 at 20:15 CET.
