2025 is slowly approaching, and that can be felt with the 2025 season already. For each day that goes, we get interesting and exciting news, and today, the Czech national broadcaster (ČT) were the ones to reveal some exciting early morning news. As mentioned in the past, the Czechs had scrapped their national final concept and instead decided to select internally.

Welcome to ADONXS

His birthname is Adam Pavlovčin, but his stage name is ADONXS. Originally from Slovakia, the 29 year old singer, was selected internally to represent Czechia in the 2025 contest, which will be held in Basel, Switzerland.

He has been active in the entertainment business for almost a full decade now. Back in 2015, he formed the group with a fellow high school friend, which went under the name PACE. During this time, they both moved to London, where the group expanded and were active until 2020. However, due to the pandemic back then, the group came to an end, along with Adam moving back to Prague.

In 2021, when he launched his solo career, he went to compete in the localized version of “Idols“, which goes under the name “SuperStar“, which is a Czech-Slovak co-production. Not only did he compete, but he also won it all.

This allowed him to release more music, as well as working as an actor, dancer and modeler. He has since released several singles, albums as a solo artist and with his group, and not only been nominated for various awards, but won them as well. Some of the awards include “Best Male Artist” and “Best New Artist“.

ADONXS has so far described his song as “Uncompromising, cheeky, sometimes cinematic and with room for dancing“, and also had the following to say regarding being picked to represent Czechia at the contest.:

  • I have visualised this moment to a large extent and for the last year I have mainly focused on creating new songs, also with the ambition of Eurovision. I applied with several songs, and I am happy that one of them was ultimately successful. I can’t wait to be able to share the song with you.
  • First of all, I am really happy; participating in Eurovision has always been my big dream. At the same time, I feel a great responsibility to represent a country that has a great recent history in the competition, and which is my home.

Czechia’s Head of Media, Michal Utíkal, explains how the decision was made:

  • The candidates were first decided by a 10-member international jury consisting of 5 professionals from the field of music production and music composers, plus 5 former foreign representatives of Eurovision. The next part was quantitative research with more than 900 respondents from three foreign countries. To ratify the voting result, we conducted another research through a focus group. And ADONXS was the clear winner in all aspects.

Ahmad Halloun who is International PR and Comms Manager for Czech delegation, also had additional to share:

  • We are all pleased that ADONXS came out as the winner. Eurovision has been his dream, and you could see it from our very first meetings – he was one step ahead and ready to work. Now we are all gearing up to deliver the best result for Czechia in the Contest.

For 2025, the contest will now also instead be fully broadcasted on the main channel ČT 1. This is the first time, that both semi-finals and the grand final will be broadcasted on the main channel of Czech television, since the country made their debut in the contest, all the way back in 2007.

When ADONXS song will be released, is still currently unknown. The Czech team will let us know when more details will be made available. Below you can get a taste of what kind of music ADONXS has made in the past.
