We are just 3 months away from the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Madrid for the first time since its inception. CyBc (the Cypriot Broadcaster) announced earlier today that the country will be returning to Junior Eurovision after a six-year hiatus.
This year’s contest marks Cyprus’s tenth appearance at Junior Eurovision, a testament to their enduring popularity and unwavering commitment to the art of music.
Cyprus’s journey to JESC began in 2003 with the song “Mia Efhi” performed by Theodora Rafti. Since then, the country has finished in the Top 10 four times, with a best result of 8th place in 2004 and 2006.
As for the song, it is composed and written by Sofia Patsalidou, who, ten years ago, represented Cyprus in the competition. In collaboration with the renowned Swedish producer and composer Armin Gilani, she has crafted this year’s entry.
The stage performance will be expertly directed by the acclaimed British artistic director, Layla Ellison.
CyBc has entrusted Chandal Entertainment Ltd with the responsibility of conducting auditions to identify talented dancers who can effectively bring the song to life on stage.
