Earlier today, the Swiss broadcaster and upcoming host broadcaster of the Eurovision Song Contest (SRG SSR) could reveal a plethora of details, regarding the upcoming contest in Basel. Among the details, we got to learn the theme, see the stage design, details about tickets and more.
The theme and stage
The visual identity of the Eurovision Song Contest, is a very important aspect, which forms and makes each contest unique in their own special way. Usually by making use of national elements, combined with what the contest represents. The visual theme for the 2025 contest, will be heavily represented by one of the contest’s trademarks, that being the heart shaped logo.
Art director Artur Deyneuve is the brain behind this brand, and he has described it as follow:
- “If we listen to one another, we find love.“
- “We’ve created a bold, high-energy track, which will prepare the audience for an unforgettable experience with its pumping beats and surprising musical effects.“
The overall inspiration comes from some of the core values of being Swiss, such as the people, their culture, instruments and style. Hence the idea of “Unity Shapes Love“.
The 2025 stage, has also been inspired from the Swiss identity, and it has been created by no other, than Eurovision stage designer veteran, Florian Wieder. The designer revealed that he mainly took inspiration from the Swiss mountains, as well as the four official languages of Switzerland, further explaining:
- “Our goal was to create a revolutionary stage concept โ a holistic experience that we’ve never seen before at Eurovision. Thanks to the immersive stage layout, the audience will get to be part of Eurovision like never before.“
Tickets
For the 2025 contest, there has been a slight change in how to get them. First of all, the tickets will for 2025 no longer be through TicketMaster, but instead on TicketCorner.ch, which is a ticket company run in Switzerland.
With the announcement of the theme and stage reveal, it was also revealed that registration for tickets have already been opened, and will remain open until January 20th 2025. The reason for this new system and the need to register for tickets ahead of the ticket sale, is in order to avoid scammers, bots, scalpers and any form of a buyer, who has no interest in attending.
It is also done in order to minimize the queue to only interested people, since the contest always generate so much interest. There will be tickets in multiple waves, but all registration for tickets, must be done NOW. Further details can be found on the site.

As a reminder, the jury show is the night show, which is held 24 hours before the live show, this is also where the jury will be voting, in case a back-up is needed during the semi-finals. The family show is the one that takes place hours ahead of the live show, which is earlier in the day, to give a younger audience a chance to experience the musical joy. Finally, there is the live shows, which are broadcasted live around the world and where the results are revealed. Price range is also included on the site.
