Azerbaijan: Mamagama release their entry “Run With U”

Normally, the Azerbaijani broadcaster (İTV) are among one of the last ones to reveal their act and song, but for 2025, that has been changed. We recently learned that Mamagama would represent the caucasus country, and now we also know the song.

Internal Selection

Azerbaijan has been selecting their entry through a internal process for the last many years. The same process was used for 2025, but it has now concluded earlier than usually. We actually need to go all the way back to the country’s debut, to find the last time that Azerbaijan released their song in February. Otherwise, it was always in March.

A total of 154 submission were sent to the broadcaster, by the time the deadline had reached, and only 12 of them progressed further into the selection. Just two weeks ago, the broadcaster confirmed that Mamagama had been selected, and now we also know the song that they will compete with.

Part of the selection committee that selected the group and song for the competition include Aysel Teymurzadeh who represented Azerbaijan in 2009, Balakishi Gasimov, Diana Hajiyeva who represented Azerbaijan in 2017, DJ Fateh, Elşad Xose, Faig Sujaddinov, Heyder and Rain Sultanov.

About Mamagama

If you need a fresh reminder, then Mamagama consists of Sefael “Asaf” Mishiyev on vocals, Bahruz “Huss” Efendiyev on guitar and Allahverdi “Arif” Gumbetli on drums. The newcoming trio has already made an impact in the music business, since their start in 2021.

In 2022, they participated in the Albanian music festival Kënga Magjike, where they won the international artists section with their song “Dreamer“. Shortly afterwards, they even tried to represent Azerbaijan in the song contest in 2023, but fell short. Instead, 2025 will be their year to achieve this.
