After 2 succesful years with back-to-back qualifications, Slovenia had opted to return to a national final format for 2025. Earlier today, the Slovenian broadcaster (RTV Slovenia) has over the day been revealing the names and titles of 12 lucky participants, that have been selected to participate in the national final.
EMA 2025
As pointed before, a total of 12 participants will take part in the Slovenian national selection, which is already set to take place on 1st of February 2025. These participants were selected from a total of 114 applications. With all that said, these are the 12 names that will sing for the Slovenian ticket to Basel: (In order of presentation)
- Eva Pavli – “Niti“
- KiKi – “O-ou!“

In recent years, Slovenia has been considered to be on the verge of withdrawal, after some sloppy years. Last time the national final was held in 2022, it resulted in a last place finish for LPS and their song “Disko“. The national final was set to return for 2024, but eventually dropped with Raiven being awarded to honor of representing the country.
Hence EMA 2025 will return to it’s one night format, which was last used in 2019. The national final will once again consist of two rounds, with the top 2 from the first round advancing to the superfinal. First round will be decided by various jury groups, while round 2 will be decided by televote only.
